Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and an exuberant appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals simple, easy-to-master recipes for the at-home cook on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell also has worked in several of the city's most prestigious restaurants, studied Italian cuisine along with its traditional recipes, and competed in Food Network Iron Chef America. While growing up in the region of upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food from a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was a natural next step to take after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a great adventure for me. I was never able to learn or learn enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Burrell gained a greater understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions throughout her time in Italy and this has affected the way she cooks. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. Additionally, she was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which aids children who are struggling. As a keynote speaker and coach, she travels throughout America to speak about the joy of cooking as well as her work. Anne has said throughout her professional career she's extremely fortunate to communicate with people what is essential to her.
